María Ruido

(Xinzo of Limia, 1967). María Ruido is an artist, filmmaker, researcher and lecturer. She currently lives between Madrid and Barcelona, where she is a professor at the Department of Art and Visual Culture of the University of Barcelona.

Since 1998 she has been developing interdisciplinary projects on the social construction of the body and identity, the work imagery in the post-Ford capitalism and the construction of memory and its relationship with the narrative forms of history. More recently, she is working around the new forms of decolonial imaginary and its emancipatory possibilities.
