Awards 2008
The 13th Ourense Film Festival under the motto "Celebrating Diversity" awarded  with the "Calpurnia" Great Prize  the German movie Weltstadt. The Portuguese Lovebirds obtained the "Carlos Velo" award for Best  Director and the Best Script prize. The Japanese The Crossword Monologues obtained the Special Prize of the Jury and the British actor Jakib Polak, the main character of  Outlanders obtained the award to the Best Actor, whereas Roxana Blanco from Uruguay obtainend the Best Actress award for her interpretation in Killing All.

HUMBERTO SOLÁS

Tribute to the Cuban director well known for films such as "Lucía", who passed away in October 2008. Humberto Solás was the co-founder of the ICAIC (Cuban Institute of Cinema) and founder of the Festival de Cine Pobre in Gibara, Cuba.
