Bikes and lights. That sequence. It has the charm present in some music videos by Mike Mills and Spike Jonze and in some of Gus Van Sant’s movies. A poetic flash of youthfulness explaining that the fun in the age in which you don’t have responsibilities is silly and daring, creative and happy, inconsequential and beautiful. OK, let’s be accurate: in that sequence and in a few more (like the initial prank at the supermarket aisles, for instance) Julio Hernández Cordón witnesses the combat against boredom of some characters who value friendship above all things, but that have not yet become aware of the obligations (of all kinfds, but mainly moral) of being an adult. Even with a corpse in the middle.
