Kiss and Cry’s casual beginning does not foretell the anguish with which the story of these skaters will be developed. The choreographed scenes on the ice that open the film, in which the girls seem to have fun, give way to others where we see them overwhelmed by the expectations of parents and coaches. Wishing to have some control over their own lives, they begin to move away from strict discipline, flirting through their cell phones with boys their age. Falling suffering and rising, everything in a process dedicated to the withdrawal and the abandonment of a life they never chose.
A film with great choreographed moments, excelling when it approaches the faces in the foreground of the girls to give account of their emotions, and also when it lets them breathe and registers them from afar, granting them the space of freedom that they lack in their lives.
